Patient Service Representatives

Full Job Description

Job Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday

Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) have a significant role at Moreland OB-GYN. PSRs are the first and last point of contact for patients. This position provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks.

Position Responsibilities:

Essential duties include providing excellent customer/patient services via phone and in person; referring callers to the appropriate departments; making appointments for patients according to clinic protocols, registration and ensuring accurate and up to date insurance information is collected.

  • Greet and check in patients in a friendly manner.
  • Collect co-payments and verify insurance coverage.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
  • Register and update patient information in electronic health record.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and professional waiting room, reception area.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred candidates will have experience in a healthcare office or fast-paced, highly interactive customer service environment. (Experience in the medical industry with scheduling and verifying insurances preferred.)
  • EPIC experience preferred, but not required.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to exceed patient expectations.
  • Excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple tasks.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT (Moreland OB-GYN)

We are adding to our staff and looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team! This is a flexible, full-time, weekday, 36-hour position. Summary: Responsible for providing professional nursing care as a liaison between patients, staff, and physicians. This position supports our Waukesha and Oconomowoc clinics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assists physician/provider in preparation of patient for exam, intake of health information including vitals
  • Assists provider with examinations and various procedures as required
  • Manages daily office duties; medication refills, result notifications, documentation within EMR
  • Collaborates regarding plan of care, facilitating follow-up, and administration of medications/ injections under guidance of provider or nurse.
  • Provides appropriate teaching to patients and family as directed. Acts as patient advocate, assessing learning needs of patient.
  • Oversees smooth progression of daily patient schedules, monitoring patient flow, and assists patients scheduling appointments as needed.
  • Training will begin as a patient service representative at the front desk for the first few months before transitioning into the medical assistant role in August.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

· Medical Assistant and current CPR certification

· At least one-year clinical experience. OB-GYN experience preferred.

· Must be knowledgeable of Electronic Medical Records. EPIC experience preferred.

· Competent performing basic clinical assessments, medication administration, and POC lab tests

· Excellent interpersonal communication, organization, and time management skills
